Today I’d like to talk about the issue of WORK. In the business climate today more and more people are trying to avoid work. Sales reps ask me where to find good leads. There are some easy ways to get good leads, but those ways are expensive. Usually sales reps are starting with nothing but still looking for the easy way out. They want to know how to use social media for ten minutes a day, then automate so they don’t even need to spend that long.
These circumstances cause me to wonder where have the workers gone? Last night I was working until about 1:00 a.m. and back at work by 7:00 a.m. Yes, one of my core values is “living,” which means I AM taking time for important things such as spending time with my family and working in my church. However, if you want to be successful, you have to work at it. You have to put in the hours. There is no magic wand.
There IS money, which is similar to a magic wand in business. If you have $100,000 in the bank which you’re willing to invest in a marketing strategy, you can grow a local business in credit card processing fairly easily.
Many of you with nothing in the bank are out selling and looking forward to making a six figure income. You won’t see that day while spending twenty hours per week on Netflix, twenty hours a week on your bowling league, and twenty hours a week with your friends. That method is like saying 2+2 = bananas; it won’t work! You can say it will work; you can believe it will work; but it simply isn’t true. The truth is that to be successful in sales or any other business, you have to work hard.
I have always found a certain fascination in the mind set of people who leave employment jobs for 1099 contractor careers, or to become entrepreneurs (so they say.) These people seem to feel compelled to leave their job because they have to work FORTY hours a week. The reason I left my “job” and will never again punch a time clock is that they won’t allow me to work enough, take enough risk, or explore enough opportunities! If you want to be successful on your own, please get rid of all the delusions in your mind such as…
I have some Good News for you: if you work hard enough, you WILL BE successful. Since most people are not working hard, you can easily differentiate yourself from your competition by simply putting in hours. Here are some tips to help you make this happen.
