Thank you very much to one of my YouTube subscribers who mentioned in a comment that I’ve never talked about E-Commerce merchants. I’m surprised I’ve never addressed that topic! I am not only a sales trainer but also a web developer and have a web development company. So, I am very familiar with E-Commerce, online payments, payment integration, gateways, etc.
The “mom and pop shop” is a market which is very saturated in our industry. (I offer plenty of training which explains how to sell in a saturated market with a lot of competition.) However, there is another market place…
That market place is the E-Commerce merchants.
The way you sell these merchants is by cold calling them. Most websites have a phone number or some form of “contact us.” Most have a google map listing, which is humorous since many physical location businesses don’t have that! It is sometimes a useful tool in finding contact information for the E-Commerce merchants.
Search Google for any product which you want to buy. For instance, search for “ball caps.” You’ll see Amazon at the top and then many other websites focused on selling hats. Start at the top since those are the ones probably processing more volume. Look at each business and search on google maps to find a phone number. Call and say, “Hey, my name is James Shepherd. I have a service to actually help you integrate your payments. I see you are already accepting payment online. Unfortunately, most of the online payment providers such as Stripe and PayPal and Square are charging high flat rate for E-Commerce. We can offer a much lower rate and the ability to integrate just like you are right now. I wanted to take a couple minutes to talk to you about that. Do you have a couple minutes?” Create a pitch to target these merchants as a consulting service who will help them transition from their current gateway to a new gateway.
Although that is the basic idea for selling E-Commerce merchants, you’ll need to understand some unique challenges. And there are certain services you’ll need to provide in order to close the deal. Make sure you find lessons two through five on instantquotetool.com to learn all the detailed information you need. Click on “training” and look for the new training course “How to Sell E-Commerce Merchants.”
