Here is a short post about the podcast and the path I have taken in the merchant services industry.
My first few weeks in the merchant services industry were filled with confusion and disappointment. My first day I had a two hour webinar and a challenge to “get out in the field.” I was left feeling unprepared. Several months and several dozen sales later, I realized the company for whom I worked was lying to my merchants and taking advantage of me.
I made two decisions that set me on a path to create CCSalesPro. The first decision was that while my experience had been terrible, merchant services was a great industry. I was going to stick with it. My second decision was to work to educate and empower other sales reps and ISO’s. My goal was to generate a feeling of confidence and excitement in others which I had lacked initially.
With that goal in mind and with profit as an eventual by-product, I started CCSalesPro.com and our YouTube channel. Since then, we have over one million YouTube views. In the last twelve months, over 40,000 individual users have visited CCSalesPro.com. And our Learning Management / Statement Analysis software now has over 1,000 users.
For years, I have followed greensheet.com as a source of information for sales professionals and ISO’s in our industry. Both of our organizations share a passion for helping the merchant level sales professional and ISO achieve success, while staying up to date with the latest trends. Starting a podcast together seems like a great way to pool our resources and create something special.
After recording the first episode with Patti, I am confident this show will be a great addition to the content produced by each of our organizations. While I do hope this podcast will bring more attention to our Instant Quote Tool and online training systems, the ultimate goal is the same as it was ten years ago when I put my first video on YouTube for free. I want to see merchant level sales people and ISO’s achieve success, knowing I was able to play a small part.
